Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 18 June 2025 *

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 111), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 27 June 2025. Further information on requests for a ballot or the amendment of Graces is available to members of the Regent House on the Regent House Petitions site.§

1. That the Head of Development for North West Cambridge be authorised to apply for new outline planning consent for continued development on the North West Cambridge site as described in the Council’s Notice dated 12 June 2025 (p. 651) and also to enter into a s.106 legal agreement to secure the planning consent.

2. That the recommendations in paragraph 9 of the Joint Report of the Council and the General Board, dated 19 May 2025, on a revised approach to examination allowances (Reporter, 6784, 2024–25, p. 560) be approved.1

3. That, on the recommendation of the General Board, a Professorship of Data-intensive Mathematical Physics be established for a single tenure from 1 January 2026, placed in the Schedule to Special Ordinance C (vii) 1, and assigned to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.2 *

4. That the first sentence of Regulation 3 of the Ordinance for the Nomination of Members of the Council in Class (e) (External Members) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 119) be amended to read as follows:3

An election of one member in class (c) and two members in class (d) of the Nominating Committee shall be held when the calendar year is odd, normally during Full Easter Term.

5. That with effect from 1 August 2025, in Regulation 2 for the Bennett Fund for Public Policy (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 788) the reference to the Head of the Department of Politics and International Studies be replaced with a reference to the Head of the Department of Public Policy.4
